The Ottawa Senators, a professional hockey team in the National Hockey League, play their home games at the Canadian Tire Centre. The arena is located in the Canadian city of Ottawa in Ontario. [1]
The arena known as the Palladium, located in Ottawa, Canada, opened in January 1996 after a construction period of 18 months. The venue opened with a concert by Canadian musician Bryan Adams on January 15, 1996. Two days later, the first NHL game was held, with the Montreal Canadiens victorious over the Senators by a score of 3-0. On February 17, 1996, the name of the arena was changed to the Corel Centre, after Ottawa-based software company Corel Corporation signed a ten-year deal for the naming rights.[2]
