Gustav Forsling (born June 12, 1996) is a Swedish ice hockey player who is currently signed with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round (126th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Playing Career[]
A product of Linköpings HC, Gustav made his senior Swedish Hockey League debut with the club during the 2014–15 SHL season.
On May 11, 2016, he signed a three-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks and made the Blackhawks opening night roster to begin his first North American season in the 2016–17 season.
On November 13, 2016, he scored his first NHL goal in a 3–2 win against Al Montoya of the Montreal Canadiens. He was later re-assigned to the team's AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs on January 6, 2017.
On June 24, 2019, Forsling was traded by the Blackhawks to the Carolina Hurricanes along with Anton Forsberg in exchange for Calvin de Haan and Aleksi Saarela.
