IceBurgh

Iceburgh is the official mascot of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

History[]

Iceburgh is the official mascot of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he is dressed as a King Penguin. He made his debut during the 1992-93 NHL season. In the 1995 film Sudden Death, which was filmed at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena and starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, Iceburgh was known as "Icey" and played by Faith Minton. The name Iceburgh is a combination of the words "iceberg" and "Pittsburgh". He usually wears a Penguins jersey with the number "00". The costume he wears is almost identical to that of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' team mascot, "Tux," with the only difference being that Iceburgh has an orange neck, while Tux's neck is red. Also, Tux wears red gloves, but Iceburgh wears black ones. Finally, Tux has the number "99" on his back with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins logo on the front of his jersey.[1]
