Jim McLean (born October 28, 1973) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently an assistant coach with the SAIT Trojans men's hockey team.

McLean played four years with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology men's hockey team,[1] before begginning his professional career in 1998 playing in the Western Professional Hockey League for the Monroe Moccasins and Amarillo Rattlers. He then relocated to Scotland to play the 1999–2000 season with the Paisley Pirates of the British National League. McLean closed out his playing career skating in 41 contests with the Fayetteville Force of the Central Hockey League during the 2000–01 season.

In 2001, McLean joined the SAIT Trojans men's hockey program as an assistant coach.[2]
