Jordan Schmaltz (born on October 8, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman currently a prospect with the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He was drafted 25th overall by the Blues in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing CareerEdit

Jordan played collegiate hockey with the University of North Dakota after playing in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers where he won the 2012 Clark and Anderson Cups. He also received First-Team honors of the USHL.

In 2011, Jordan was traded to the Green Bay Gamblers from Sioux City where he was named to the 2010–11 USHL All-Rookie Teamand also to the USHL First All-Star Team.

He spent three seasons playing for the University of North Dakota in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

On May 28, 2015, Jordan announced that he would forgo his final year of NCAA eligibility and signed a three-year entry level contract with the Blues.

Personal LifeEdit

Jordan was born to parents Mike and Lisa Schmaltz. He was raised in Verona, Wisconsin.

He has a younger brother, Nick Schmaltz who was selected 20th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and a younger sister Kylie, who plays for the University of Kentucky's women's volleyball team.

His father, Mike and uncles Marc & Monte lettered in football at the University of North Dakota.
