Marko Daňo (born November 30, 1994) is a Slovak professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League (NHL).
He was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets as the 27th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 2014.
Prior to playing in the NHL, he played for Slovan Bratislava of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for two seasons.
Playing Career[]
Marko was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round (27th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Following the completion of his second KHL season in 2013–14 with Slovan Bratislava, he signed an entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets on March 14, 2014.
On October 11, 2014, he scored his first career NHL goal in a game against the New York Rangers.
At the beginning of the 2014–15 season, Marko played eight games with Columbus in the NHL before being reassigned to the Springfield Falcons, the Blue Jackets' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, however, he was recalled back to Columbus in February of 2015 where he played for the rest of regular season.
On June 30, 2015, Marko and his fellow teammates Jeremy Morin, Artem Anisimov and Corey Tropp were traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for Brandon Saad, Alex Broadhurst and Michael Paliotta.
On November 2, 2015, Marko was recalled by the Blackhawks to the NHL, making his Chicago Blackhawks debut that night in a 4-2 victory against the Los Angeles Kings. He played in 13 games with the Blackhawks scoring a goal and an assist before he was returned to the IceHogs.
On February 25, 2016, he and the Blackhawks' first-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft were traded to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Andrew Ladd, Jay Harrison and Matt Fraser.

International Play[]
Marko participated at the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships for Slovakia, as well as at the 2013 and 2015 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Slovak men's team.
Personal Life[]
Marko was born in Eisenstadt, Austria, but grew up in Trenčín, Slovakia. His father, Jozef Daňo was also an ice hockey player; he played for the Slovak national team at the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics.
