Sawyer Hannay (born September 6, 1992) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. Hannay was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th round (205th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Hannay played four seasons (2008 - 2013) of major junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), scoring 1 goal and 20 assists for 21 points, while earning 493 penalty minutes, in 198 QMJHL games. During the 2012-13 season Hannay played one game with EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League before completing the season with the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL.
On October 10, 2013, Hannay was signed by the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL), and he was assigned to start the season in the ECHL with the Evansville IceMen.[1]
