Vadim Shipachyov (born Vadim Alexandrovich Shipachyov on March 12, 1987) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward who currently plays for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Playing Career[]

Previously, Vadim played with Severstal Cherepovets and SKA Saint Petersburg in Russia.

In the 2015-16 season, he skated in 54 regular-season games for SKA Saint Petersburg ending the season with 60 points (with 17 goals & 43 assists). He also had 19 points on four goals & 15 assists in 17 games during the KHL playoffs, helping SKA Saint Petersburg win the league championship for the second time in his career (in 2015 & 2017).

In the 2016-17 season, Vadim finished the season with 76 points (with 26 goals & 50 assists) in 50 games and finishing 3rd in scoring in the KHL.

In Vadim's KHL career, he has registered 137 goals and 275 assists for 412 points in 445 games split between Saint Petersburg and his hometown team, Severstal Cherepovets. He has served as either a captain or alternate captain of SKA St. Petersburg the last three seasons.

On May 4, 2017, he was signed to a two-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, becoming the second player signed to the franchise.

Vadim has played Team Russia on three previous occasions at the IIHF World Championships during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 tournaments.

He won a gold medal in 2014, silver in 2015 and bronze in 2016 where he led the entire tournament in scoring and assists with 18 points on six goals and 12 assists.

Vadim also played for Russia during the recent 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto.
